Jon and I just went through our “Answered Prayers” jar from 2018.

Some answered prayers I had already forgotten about. Some I could never forget. And some, well…many, many more never made it into the jar. These were the day-to-day answered prayers for forgiveness, endurance, conflict resolution, provision, and a million “God, just please help me,” prayers.

No way could God’s activity in the last year of our lives fit into a cute, little mason jar. No way could we ever recount all His blessings in both the pleasurable and painful providences of the past twelve months. And if He is working all (ALL!) things together for the good of those who love Him, then even the Grand Canyon would overflow with our scribblings about the ways God meets us each day with countless kindnesses.
